Service

Sod Installation

Tired of patchy grass? We prep, lay, and water in fresh sod for a yard that looks finished day one.

About this service

Sod gets you from bare or patchy to finished lawn in a single day. ClearPath preps the site properly (grading, soil amendment, debris removal) and lays fresh sod in tight, staggered seams so the lawn knits in cleanly.

Sod is the right choice when seed won't cut it: erosion-prone slopes, high-traffic areas, new construction, or properties that need to look finished now.

Every sod installation job covers:

  • Removal of existing weeds, debris, and dead turf
  • Light grading and soil amendment as needed
  • Fresh sod sourced from regional growers
  • Tight, staggered seam installation
  • Roll-in for solid root contact
  • First watering on completion
  • Watering schedule and care instructions

Who this is right for

  • New construction with bare or rough-graded yards
  • Erosion-prone slopes where seed won't establish
  • High-traffic areas (kids, pets) that need turf right away
  • Properties prepping to list, for an instant finished look

Our process

How we deliver this service

STEP 01

Site prep

Existing material is removed, the soil is graded and amended where needed, and the surface is ready for sod.

STEP 02

Sod delivery and install

Fresh sod is delivered and installed the same day. Seams are staggered and rolled for tight contact with the soil.

STEP 03

First water and handoff

We water the new sod thoroughly and hand off a clear watering schedule. The first 2 to 3 weeks of watering are critical.

Sod questions, answered.

The questions clients actually ask before they book. Don't see yours? Send it our way. We answer every email.

How long until I can walk on new sod?

Light foot traffic is fine after about 2 weeks. Heavy use, pets, and mowing should wait until the sod has rooted in, typically 3 weeks.

How much watering does new sod need?

New sod needs frequent, deep watering for the first 2 to 3 weeks, typically 2 to 3 times per day initially, tapering as roots establish. We provide a written watering schedule.

Is sod better than seed?

Sod gives you instant finished lawn and works on slopes and high-traffic areas. Seed is cheaper but takes weeks to establish and doesn't work everywhere. We'll recommend based on your situation.

When should I first mow new sod?

Wait until the sod has rooted into the soil, typically 2 to 3 weeks. The first mow should be at the higher end of your grass type's range to avoid stress.

Can you sod just part of a lawn?

Absolutely. Patch sodding for damaged or worn areas is one of the most common requests we get.
