Hedge & Bush Trimming

Shaped, healthy hedges and shrubs. Clean lines and tidy growth, trimmed on the right schedule.

About this service

Hedges and shrubs read as a major signal of how a property is cared for. ClearPath trims on the right cadence and at the right time of year for the plant, so they stay healthy, dense, and clean-lined, not over-cut and stressed.

We handle formal hedges (boxwood, privet, yew), informal shrubs (hydrangea, viburnum, spirea), evergreen foundation plantings, and ornamental specimen plants.

Every hedge & bush trimming job covers:

  • Shape and size shrubs and hedges to a clean line or natural form
  • Selective pruning to maintain plant health and air circulation
  • Cuts timed to the plant, not just the calendar
  • All clippings collected, blown off hard surfaces, and hauled away
  • Notes on any plants that need follow-up or are struggling

Who this is right for

  • Foundation plantings that have outgrown their original shape
  • Formal hedges that need crisp lines
  • Flowering shrubs that need pruning at the right time to bloom
  • Properties prepping for a sale or photography

Our process

How we deliver this service

STEP 01

Walk-through

We identify each shrub species, current condition, and the right pruning approach for each.

STEP 02

Trim and shape

Hedges get clean lines; informal shrubs get selective pruning that holds shape without looking sheared.

STEP 03

Cleanup

All clippings collected, hard surfaces blown off, debris hauled away. Nothing left behind.

Hedge questions, answered.

The questions clients actually ask before they book. Don't see yours? Send it our way. We answer every email.

How often should hedges be trimmed?

Most formal hedges look best with 2 to 3 trims per year: early summer, mid-summer, and a light shape-up in fall. Slow growers like boxwood may only need one or two passes.

When should I prune flowering shrubs?

It depends on when they bloom. Spring bloomers (lilac, forsythia, azalea) are pruned right after they finish flowering. Summer bloomers (hydrangea paniculata, butterfly bush) are pruned in late winter. We time each shrub to its species.

Can you trim back overgrown shrubs?

Yes. We do hard rejuvenation pruning on shrubs that have been let go. Some species respond well; others need a phased approach over 2 to 3 seasons. We'll set expectations before cutting.

Do you remove the trimmings?

Always. Every job ends with clippings collected, hard surfaces blown off, and debris hauled away.

Do you sharpen and disinfect tools between properties?

Yes. Sharp, clean cuts are healthier for plants and prevent the spread of disease between properties.
