Service

Mulch Installation

Fresh mulch installed clean and even. Instant curb appeal and healthier beds for the season.

About this service

Fresh mulch is the single highest-impact upgrade for curb appeal, and it's better for your beds. ClearPath installs new mulch cleanly: we prep beds, edge bed lines, and lay mulch at the right depth to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

We work with hardwood, dyed (black, brown, red), and natural mulch, and we pick the type and color that fits the property and the surrounding hardscape.

Every mulch installation job covers:

  • Clean out existing beds: leaves, debris, dead growth
  • Pull visible weeds before laying new mulch
  • Re-cut bed lines for a clean, defined edge
  • Lay mulch at the correct depth (typically 2 to 3 inches)
  • Hand-place mulch around plants, no piling against trunks
  • Blow off all hard surfaces and haul away debris

Who this is right for

  • Spring refresh, when last season's mulch has faded or thinned
  • New plantings that need protection while establishing
  • Properties prepping for sale or photography

Our process

How we deliver this service

STEP 01

Quote and material selection

We measure your beds, recommend depth and mulch type, and quote installed (mulch plus labor) so the number is final.

STEP 02

Bed prep

Crews clean out the beds, weed, and re-cut edges before any mulch is laid.

STEP 03

Install and clean up

Mulch is laid evenly, hand-placed near plants, and all surfaces are blown clean before we leave.

Mulch questions, answered.

The questions clients actually ask before they book. Don't see yours? Send it our way. We answer every email.

How much mulch do I need?

Most beds need about one cubic yard of mulch per 100 square feet at a 3-inch depth. We measure your beds and quote the exact amount. No guessing.

What kind of mulch should I use?

Hardwood is the most common and breaks down well. Dyed mulches (black, brown, red) hold color longer and look uniform. Natural cedar or pine bark lasts longer but costs more. We recommend based on the look you want and the surrounding plants.

How often should mulch be replaced?

Most properties refresh annually, typically each spring. Faded color, thin coverage, and visible soil are the signs it's time.

Does mulch help prevent weeds?

Yes. At the right depth (2 to 3 inches), mulch blocks light to weed seeds and dramatically reduces germination. We can also pre-treat beds with weed preventer if requested.

Will you remove the old mulch?

We don't strip beds down to soil unless you've asked for it. Old mulch breaks down into the soil and is beneficial. We clean the surface, weed, and lay fresh mulch on top to bring depth back to spec.
